We’ve seen what happens when you try to do a Jim Carrey movie without Jim Carrey. They’re all horrible. If Jim Carrey isn’t back as Ace, then it ain’t worth it. He pretty much owned the Ace Ventura Alrighty then sunset shirt, and anyone else who tries is just going to come off as a bad Jim Carrey impression. I don’t even think playing a more subtle and low-key version of the character would work either since Jim was able to fully embrace the rather absurd nature pun intended of a pet dick.
