It depends. The Stitch Grumpy but lovable shirt I see with many modern movies is that they are directed by people who think that a woman can't be a strong main character unless she is a Mary Sue. We never see a character like Ripley.
Heck, Ghibli does a better job at writing female leads than Hollywood does these days, Oh bore of now, can't beat a good film with a great actor in it, think about the Stitch Grumpy but lovable shirt could a woman of done that? What about the rush hour movies?
What about the blade? Women are good actresses well some are but stop trying to take over! Who cares about female representation if the Stitch Grumpy but lovable shirt and actors suck? a normal woman who just happens to be badass.
